In this class we isolate various skills to build on so your child learns the basic fundamentals and thus creates enough artwork through regular attendance to generate a powerful portfolio pieces at its end with sound knowledge about how to see and draw better.
2-D design and color theory (october) The elements and principles of art are what we use to create and evaluate two -dimensional art. Each project will emphasize several elements. Students will discover how the principles guide the use of the elements to communicate mood, visual tempo or stability. We will also learn about color schemes, mixing color and its role in the overall impact of a work of art.
Session Three: Drawing with color Media (november) Using colored pencils, pastels and oil pastels, we will work on techniques and developing observational skills. We will draw from life and photographs. Students will use both their imaginations and observational skills in a surrealistic project.
These classes are $28 each with a 4-week minimum commitment. (They are 2 hours rather than our usual 2 and a half hours long.
